The long anticipated opening of the Duck Creek Recreation Area northwest of Peru is slated for noon on Monday, April 16. Day-use areas will be open; however, camping areas won't open until May 21 to allow grass to become better established. Come check out the fishing, no-wake boating, picnic and playground areas, and hiking trails!

A Nemaha NRD park entry permit will be required at Duck Creek, and you can purchase your annual permit for just $15 right here on our website. It's good through December 31 for not only Duck Creek but also Kirkman's Cove, Iron Horse Trail Lake, and Wirth Brothers Lake.
