Conservation Cost-Share Sign Up Deadline Approaches

If you're interested in some cost-share assistance for conservation measures such as terraces, waterways, planned grazing systems, or small grade stabilization dams, the NRD might be able to help. For years the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation Program has provided funding for these projects, and the Nemaha NRD board of directors annually allocates money in its budget to supplement the state funds. Maximum funding per year is $8,000/landowner, and you must sign up at your local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office by June 1. Approvals are made after July 1, and highest priority goes to work that can be completed during the summer. More details can be found on our Programs page or by contacting the NRD or your NRCS office.
