Location: 2 1/2 miles west, 1/2 mile north of Humboldt, Nebraska, in Richardson County

Size: 511 acres (lake: 160 acres)

Opened in 1988 as flood control/recreation structure within the Long Branch Watershed

Contrary to information provided in the 2008 Nebraska Boating Guide distributed by the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, boating up to speeds of 35 mph are allowed on the lake at Kirkmanís Cove, within designated areas and in accordance with Nebraska boating regulations. Personal watercraft are not, however, allowed on any Nemaha NRD public lakes.

Boating limited to maximum 35 mph within designated areas only.
Personal watercraft, snowmobiles, ATVs prohibited.
Kirkmanís Lakeview Golf Course, nine-hole public course, adjacent.
