Kirkman's Cove

Location: 2 1/2 miles west, 1/2 mile north of Humboldt, Nebraska, in Richardson County

Size: 511 acres (lake: 160 acres)

Opened in 1988 as flood control/recreation structure within the Long Branch Watershed

Boating up to speeds of 35 mph are allowed on the lake at Kirkman’s Cove, within designated areas and in accordance with Nebraska boating regulations. Personal watercraft are not, however, allowed on any Nemaha NRD public lakes.
