Watershed of Wonders Set for June 18
at Iron Horse Trail Lake
Wednesday, June 18, has been set as the date for this year’s edition
of the Watershed of Wonders, a day camp for 10-12 year olds in
southeast Nebraska. Sponsored by the Nemaha Natural Resources
District and funded in part through a grant from the Environmental
Protection Agency, this year’s camp will be held at Iron Horse Trail
Lake near DuBois. Previous versions of this camp took place at
Kirkman’s Cove near DuBois.
Those attending the camp will learn about fishing, boating, water
creatures, wildlife, and other natural resources in a fun and
relaxed atmosphere. Activities will be hands-on and interactive; and
lunch, beverages, snacks, and an official “WoW” t-shirt are all
included. Best of all, there is no cost to participants; however,
pre-registration is required to allow presenters to plan
appropriately. In addition, space is limited; so registrations will
be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration information was provided through many of the schools in
southeast Nebraska. However, if you haven’t received a
pre-registration form, contact the Nemaha NRD in Tecumseh at (402)
335-3325 or by email at
nnrd@nemahanrd.org. Don’t miss out on this year’s
Watershed of Wonders, because it’s only held every two years!
Pre-registrations are due by May 15. |
