Soil & Water Conservation Program (SWCP)50% cost-share is available, up to $5,000/year/landowner for the following practices:
Sign up at your local NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) office anytime between January 1 and June 1 annually. Well Abandonment75% cost-share is available (up to $500 for drilled wells or $700 for hand dug wells) to properly close and seal abandoned wells. Abandonment must be completed by a licensed well driller. Sign up anytime at the Nemaha NRD office in Tecumseh or use our online request form for applications. Small Dams Program25%-75% cost-share, up to $50,000/project, is available for dams, farm ponds, or water/sediment control basins that provide grade stabilization, flood control, erosion/sediment control, road protection, livestock water, recreation, or wildlife habitat. Request additional information by calling the NNRD office. Partners for WildlifeImproving and protecting fish and wildlife habitat on private land is the goal of this program. Options include:

Urban Special ProjectsMatching funds up to $25,000 per project are available for public projects within urban areas of the District. This includes projects designed to provide natural resources recreation, interpretation, or education. Interested entities should contact the NRD.
