Tree Clearing Underway @ Iron Horse

Tree clearing at Iron Horse Trail Lake has resumed on July 15, so visitors are urged to be aware of the increased activity at the park. Dresen Contracting from Tecumseh was awarded the bid last fall to rid the park of invasive trees and shrubs on about 170 acres of the park's land. Winter weather hampered progress on the work which was then suspended in April due to migratory bird treaty restrictions. Clearing is expected to continue until about October 1, so visitors should be aware that equipment may be working during the week in public areas of the park. Any work that occurs on the weekend will be in areas well away from the camping and day use areas. The trails or other areas in the park may be temporarily closed for short periods, and visitors are asked to heed any signs or baricades restricting access to those areas. We apologize for any inconvenience and will appreciate your cooperation.
