General Info.
62-acre lake, 200 acre park.
5 miles northwest of Peru, Nebraska (2 miles east of Hwy 75 on 736 Road)

Opening for day use on April 16 and camping on May 21, 2018, is the District’s fifth public recreation area featuring a 62-acre lake approximately 5 miles northwest of Peru, Nebraska, in Nemaha County. The park encompasses about 200 acres.

Things You Should Know

  • NNRD vehicle permit required
  • May-September, NRD staff test water at the beach and boat dock for presence of toxic algae; test results are available on the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality’s website; tests above 20 ppm require a minimum two-week health alert (notice is available by recorded message 24/7 at 402-335-3325, on our Facebook page, or on this website)
  • No hunting or possession of firearms allowed


The Nemaha NRD is pleased to announce that we will be holding a Grand Opening Celebration for the Duck Creek Recreation Area on Saturday June 2, 2018. Everyone is invited to attend and celebrate the opening of our newest park! (Details about the day's events will be listed here soon.)

For the safety and benefit of those at the event, access to the park and facilities including the boat ramp, day-use area, and camping areas will be restricted from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M that day.
