TECUMSEH, Neb. – Nemaha Natural Resources District (NNRD) Assistant Manager Jane Kuhl has been named the recipient of the 2026 Nebraska Association of Resources Districts (NARD) NRD Hall of Fame Employee Award.

Kuhl was honored as a 2026 NRD Hall of Fame inductee during the NARD Annual Conference in Kearney on Sept. 28 after being nominated for the award by the NNRD. The NRD Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose contributions have strengthened Nebraska’s Natural Resources District system, with recognition given in the employee, director and NRD supporter categories.

For 44 years, Kuhl has been an important part of the Nemaha NRD, dedicating her career to Nebraska’s natural resources and serving the people of southeast Nebraska. She began her career as the district’s secretary before progressing through various roles and today serves as the Assistant Manager. Each role brought new responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the district, allowing her to build the knowledge and experience that have shaped her career.

Throughout more than four decades of service, Kuhl has been a dependable resource for staff and board members. Her extensive experience with the district has given her a deep understanding of its operations, making her a valuable source of knowledge. She has been integral to the district’s work over the years, helping guide transitions, support new employees and carry forward the know edge and experience built throughout her career.

Kuhl has also remained closely connected to conservation, the land, and the communities served by the Nemaha NRD. Outside of the office, that connection continues through the family farm she and her husband, Gary, operate near Elk Creek. The two remain active in the day-to-day work of the farm, making the land an important part of Kuhl’s life both personally and professionally. 

The Nemaha NRD is proud to see Kuhl’s dedication and contributions recognized through the NARD Hall of Fame Employee Award. Her knowledge, dependability and commitment have made a lasting impact on the district, and the award is a meaningful recognition of the role she continues to play in serving the district and the people of southeast Nebraska.
