All domestic water wells constructed by a licensed water well contractor on or after July 1st, 2001 shall be registered with the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy & Environment (DWEE) within sixty days after completion of construction. Landowners with water wells constructed prior to this date may voluntarily register their well with DWEE. Registering your domestic well can also help protect your water supply from encroachment by new, high-capacity wells.
